The EEO (Exceptional Educational Opportunities) is an outstanding program. It’s a six weeks program that is a great beneficial experience. Being in this program will help prepare you for the fall semester. You will learn a lot of difference things that you will need to know when you start in the fall semester. It is a lot of hard work but it’s all worth it at the end. Also being in this program is a head start of the game, you will be way ahead of the regular admission students that starts in the fall semester.
In addition, you have to put a lot of hard work and dedication into this program. Having a positive attitude in this program will help you get far. It is important that you attend classes’ everyday and being on time. You can easily get distracted and fall behind, so keeping focus at all times is very important. You should not get carried away from your social life. The work load is very heavy; you will be up very late at night doing homework and studying most of your time. You will have homework from each of your classes, and sometimes a class required you to do a certain amount of lab hours that you will have to complete. If you don’t do the lab hours, you will automatically fail that class. You will have classes, workshops, tutoring, appointments with your advisor and peer counselor. So having a good time management is the key, you will be organized and everything will flow smoothly for you.
Keep your grades on point is extremely important, because if you mess up and don’t take your classes seriously you can get omitted out of the program. You will be tested on everything you learn in all of your classes at the end. Staying alert will be an important factor in this care. If you lose focus in your class, you will be lost and won’t know what to do. Making sure that you stay alert in all your classes is very important, because you will have finals the last week of the program. Maintaining a high GPA will keep you at the top. You GPA in college are one of the most important things. If your GPA drops below a certain average you can get expelled from the University or be put on academics prohibition. It is important that you follow directions and do what you have to do at all time. Your academics are very important in this program. You have to try and do your best no matter what. If you put your mind to it, there is nothing you cannot accomplish.
From my experience as an EEO student, it is a lot of hard work and fun at the same time. You learn something new every day. It is a great experience on what to expect from the college life. You learn that college life is no joke. It is very different from high school. Now you are on your own, and there will be no one there to tell you what to do, it’s all going to be your choice to make the right decision. Living on campus was a great experience. It really prepares you not only for the college life, but for the “real world”.
